A Dream within a Dream

No one writes utopian novels anymore.  Why?   Utopia novels -- novels where the world is an ideal, a good place, a place with a secure future.  We write dystopian novels -- the world is bleak, ending, dangerous, turned upside down, there is no moral center, and if only one brave girl (HUNGER GAME series -- loved it!!) or one brave boy (INCARCARON and its sequel -- loved it too!!l)can survive the prison-like existence of the future, can we ALL truly survive.  LIE is contemporary, realistic; however, I am drawn in that realism to the bleakest of stories -- hate.  Or, maybe our real world is only an emerging dystopia?  Maybe all we see or seem is only a dream within a dream (Lewis Carroll).
